Outdoor Movie Night in Embudo Hills Park

Saturday, July 13, is our annual movie night in the park!  We will be watching The Sandlot. Please bring chairs, blankets, and snacks for our 8:30pm viewing under the stars.  FREE for all neighbors.

The Vista del Mundo Neighborhood Association dues pay for this and other activities throughout the year. Not a member? Donations are gladly accepted at the event, as are new member registrations and renewals.

East Gateway Coalition Meeting

The East Gateway Coalition is having a meeting Thursday, July 11 @ 6:30pm at the Manzano Mesa Multicultural Center to discuss the proposed low income housing project at 10600 Central and the Singing Arrow Community Center. Please contact Jim Andrews at jamesw.andrews01@gmail.com for details.

Neighborhood Cleanup

Our next Neighborhood Cleanup is Saturday, July 20 from 8am to 11am at Embudo Hills Park. ABQ Parks & Rec has pledged to be there with community volunteers, tools, fill dirt and more so we need as many neighbors as possible to help us put the finishing touches on the park that we’ve worked so hard on all summer.

Maintenance of Common Areas

Many of the homes in our neighborhood have streets that run behind or alongside them.  It is the responsibility of the homeowner to maintain that portion of their lot even if it is outside their wall. This includes picking all weeds, removing trash, and trimming bushes and trees. Please be sure to maintain these common areas if this is your responsibility for the enjoyment of your neighbors and property values.  Click here for a list of all homes responsible for maintenance of common areas.

People Sleeping In The Park Overnight

There has been an ever growing caravan of people sleeping in cars parked beside Embudo Hills Park each night and morning (esp on Narcisco).  This is illegal and APD strongly suggests nipping it in the bud.

VDMNA has requested a periodic watch placed on the park so we will have an increased police presence for the next two weeks. However APD cannot be there all the time. If you see someone sleeping in their car please call 242-COPS. Give a description of the vehicle and number of people in the car. They will send an officer to request they leave the area.

We Have a New Website!

We’ve been working on our new website for a while now and we think it’s ready for you to check out.  We have more content, news and a member’s area only accessible to Vista del Mundo neighbors. You can create an account, participate in our message boards, take our neighborhood survey, see your payment history, access our events calendar and more. Check it out at www.vdmna.com

Membership Drive

Your Board has met numerous times this past year to assure that we are providing excellent service to you, the homeowners of our beautiful community. Some of the usual duties we perform during the year on your behalf are

  • Organizing neighborhood activities in our park
  • Communicating with our local representatives
  • Organizing neighborhood clean ups
  • Sending out newsletters
  • Planning beautification projects
  • Arranging for the annual meeting
  • Tending to homeowner’s concerns

One of our top priorities is to maintain the appearance of the park and two entryways to our neighborhood at Pinnacle View and Monte Verde. Your membership will help us maintain the beauty of these critical community areas.

Yearly dues remain $30 for homeowners and $40 for home-based businesses in 2019. You can register or renew your membership at your convenience via PayPal to vdmna1@gmail.com or by sending your check to: VDMNA, PO Box 51555, Albuquerque, NM  87181

That’s it for now!  If you have any questions or suggestions please be sure to let us know. We hope to see you soon,
